Introduction
The aim of NAVISTO is to support all the participants in identifying and utilising opportunities in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) applications.
Activities and expected results:
NAVISTO is a one-year subproject supporting all the participants in
identifying and utilising opportunities in Global Navigation Satellite
Systems (GNSS) applications. This includes the analysis of existing
know-how in satellite navigation applications, especially in the framework
of the Galileo programme, identification of trans-regional technology
matching and transfer opportunities, development of a specific navigation
demonstrator setup, and dissemination activities that info rm and involve
all the participants.
The project, developed in collaboration with partners in Italy (Politecnico
Innovazione, Politecnico di Milano, Università di Pavia, Carlo
Gavazzi Space) and the Netherlands (TU/e Innovation Lab), will yield
concrete and sustainable results in terms of the knowledge of GNSS
opportunities, business cases and plans, concrete high-tech start-ups
and creating TT and R&D collaborations that will lead to a sustained
influence and activities that will continue beyond the finalisation
of the project.
Who and how can utilize the results of the NAVISTO subproject?
The beneficiaries of Navisto will be the local companies (mostly SMEs)
in the respective partner regions ( Catalonia , Lombardy and North
Brabant ), developing technologies in the field of Satellite Navigation.
Through technology matching events, local companies will be able to
create synergies with counterparts of the other regions.
What competitive advantage does the NAVISTO subproject offer?
Through the development of feasibility studies, business plans, and
technology matching events, the local companies involved can take advantage
of the knowledge of the regional technology transfer centres that will
help them gather knowledge of the market and build relationship with
commercial partners of other regions.
Obtained results
Business plans have been defined and feasibility studies have been carried out. Concrete and sustainable results in terms of the knowledge of GNSS opportunities, concrete high-tech start-ups and creating TT and R&D collaborations have been realised. As a result, at least 3 start-ups (one per region) can now be created either by an existing company or by the creation of a new one. |
