Introduction
There are plenty of sources and databases that provide different material applications. The idea to share basic sources with harmonised data inside a large database could interest a lot of production and construction companies.
The subproject aims at creating a network that physically and virtually connects researchers, designers, users and manufacturers of advanced materials. It will exploit the characteristics of some categories of advanced materials in the field of sustainable design, with particular reference to Health and Biomedical Design.
Activities and expected results:
The subproject aims to create a network that physically and virtually
connects researchers, designers, users and manufacturers of advanced
materials. It will exploit the characteristics of some categories
of advanced materials in the field of sustainable design, with particular
reference to Health and Biomedical Design.
Building a library of advanced materials, their structure, their
properties and relative technologies for sustainable design with
an innovative -application oriented- taxonomic classification of
records.
Organization of dissemination events in each of the participating
regions, comprising showcases based on proprietary technologies and
patented inventions.
Who and how can utilize the results of the MATE.O.D subproject?
There are a lot of different material applications with plenty of
sources and databases. The idea to share basic sources with harmonised
data inside a large database could interest a lot of production and
construction companies, especially machinery, chemistry, health-care
producers. The newly created database will be subsequently utilized
by universities, research and development centres, construction as
well as companies in their R & D departments.
What competitive advantage does the MATE.O.D subproject
offer?
Experts' point of view with mastering the database could open another
collaborative connection between companies and Universities. Moreover,
the references of internationaly renowned universities and polytechnics
would support the cooperation with foreign partners and other regional
partners from industries in partnering regions.
Obtained results
Several physical results were obtained by this subproject. They were collected and posted on the website, www.mateod.eu, with the reference of making a library. This contains a MATE.O.D. Handbook, with over 150 cards, that allows an easy consultation and a DVD about shape memory alloys technologies, on which different topics are explained at a non-specialistic level. A database with a language specifically for new techno-starters with not a strictly scientific background was built, approaching the date from an applicative need. |
